A Little About Me
If you'd told me more than 30 years ago that my curiosity about natural health would lead to a career in herbalism, teaching, iridology, and even website design, I'm not sure I would have believed you!
But that's one of the things I've come to appreciate about life. Sometimes the opportunities we never planned for become some of the most meaningful parts of our journey.
I'm Beth Hovis, and I've spent much of my adult life learning, teaching, and helping others make connections between what they know, what they're discovering, and what they can do with that knowledge.
From Curiosity
to Calling
What started as a curiosity about natural approaches to health eventually led me into the herbal retail world, where I spent 24 years helping people explore herbs, natural health products, and ways to support their well-being. Those years gave me something no textbook could: the opportunity to listen, ask questions, and learn from real people with real concerns.
Teaching, however, wasn't entirely new to me. I'd previously taught high school physical science, and I discovered that whether I was explaining scientific principles to teenagers or helping adults understand herbs and natural health, I loved seeing that moment when something finally clicked.
That love of teaching eventually opened the door to six years as an instructor with Trinity School of Natural Health, where I taught a variety of natural health subjects and developed the Master Iridology program. What began as a personal interest had grown into an opportunity to help others build knowledge, develop practical skills, and discover their own passion for learning.
More Than
Meets the Eye
Of all the subjects I've taught over the years, iridology has become especially dear to my heart. There's something fascinating about the intricate patterns of the iris and the opportunity to explore what makes each of us unique. But what I enjoy most is helping students move beyond memorizing charts and terminology to truly understanding the principles behind what they're learning.
That passion has also led me to become deeply involved with the International Iridology Practitioners Association (IIPA), where I've had the privilege of serving in several volunteer leadership positions. I currently serve as Vice President and Webmaster and chair the Certifications & Standards Committee. In 2019, I was honored to receive IIPA's Iridology Instructor of the Year award, a recognition that means a great deal to me.
Through Beth Hovis Education, I offer Comprehensive Iridology courses and certification training designed to help students build a strong foundation, develop practical skills, and grow in confidence. I believe good education should do more than provide information. It should help students understand what they're learning and how to apply it responsibly.
And Then Came Another Unexpected Turn...
Apparently, teaching and natural health weren't quite enough to keep me busy!
Over the years, I've discovered that I also enjoy the creative and strategic side of building a business, particularly bringing ideas together in ways that are both beautiful and practical. What began with managing my own websites eventually grew into designing and improving websites for others.
Today, I offer boutique Squarespace website design for natural health and wellness professionals who recognize the value of a thoughtful, professional online presence. Whether someone is launching a new practice or ready to give an existing website new life, I enjoy helping bring their vision into focus through clear messaging, intentional design, and an understanding of the industry they serve.
It's a different kind of creative work from teaching, but in many ways, the heart behind it is the same: helping people take what they've envisioned and turn it into something meaningful.
The Heart Behind It All
As much as I love teaching, creating, and exploring new ideas, my work is only one part of who I am.
I'm a follower of Jesus, and my faith shapes how I see the world, the way I approach life, and my desire to help others recognize the gifts and purpose God has placed within them. I'm continually discovering more about identity, design, and what it means to live according to who we were created to be.
I'm also a wife, mother of three, and grandmother of eight. My husband, Rob, and I live in the metro Atlanta area, and our family is an important part of my life. There's something wonderful about watching the next generations grow, discover their own interests, and become who they're meant to be.
And while my professional journey has taken some unexpected turns, I've learned that sometimes the most meaningful opportunities begin with a simple willingness to say yes.

If there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's that life doesn't always unfold the way we expect. Some of the most meaningful opportunities in my life began with an invitation I hadn't anticipated and a decision to say yes.
