Have you experienced the benefits of ylang ylang?
Ylang ylang essential oil comes from the beautiful low-hanging flowers of the ylang ylang tree which is native to Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Ylang ylang has long been regarded for its beautiful sweet floral scent and has always been a favorite in perfumes. It is good for healthy skin and hair, emotional support, healthy libido, and energy balance for both men and women. There’s even a study that shows it helps with self-esteem.
I have been using ylang ylang regularly for the last several months and I can say I have definitely noticed a difference in my own confidence and stress levels. While it’s good for men, too, I think there is a reason women are especially drawn to this amazing floral. I heard a lady say the other day that one of the reasons she loves ylang ylang so much is because it makes her feel more connected with her feminine qualities.
Ylang ylang is a natural aphrodisiac, making it an obvious choice to diffuse in the bedroom or spray a light mist between the sheets when mixed with some water and witch hazel in a glass spray bottle. Ylang ylang blends well with lemon, bergamot, orange, or vanilla extract. Or all the above!
Love Potion Perfume Recipe:
-15 drops ylang ylang
-8 drops bergamot
-8 drops black pepper
Blend together with 4 to 5 ounces of fractionated coconut oil, V-6 carrier oil, or carrier oil of your choice. Distribute into glass roller bottles for easy use.
How about healthy hair?
One of my favorite ways to use ylang ylang is add one drop to my hands and then comb it through my hair with my fingers. The scent stays with me for good 2 or 3 days if I don’t wash my hair. But even better is to make a moisturizing hair-thickening mask!
Shiny Hair Mask:
Add 2-3 drops ylang ylang to 4-6 tbs coconut oil.
Apply to hair and let sit for 10 minutes. Wash and admire that shine! Can also use this same blend for a hydrating and skin-glowing moisturizer.
Feel free to add other oils like vanilla, orange, or black spruce for a more complex fragrance!

Please be aware that essential oils are beautiful, wonderful oils, but they do need to be properly diluted in a carrier oil for topical use as some oils can irritate the skin if applied directly.
