These oils are not only great at keeping insects at bay, but the carrier oils are great for the skin.
Jojoba oil and vegetable glycerin are well-known for healing the skin.
The alcohol and distilled vinegar in this repellent both act as a preservative and as an antibacterial cleaner.
The apple cider vinegar is an insect repellent all on its own, and it also has antibacterial cleansing properties.
Witch Hazel is also antibacterial and if you do happen to be bitten by a pesky insect, it soothes bug bites.
Citronella and Lemon Eucalyptus are often used as effective mosquito repellents.
Lavender has antihistamine and anti-inflammatory properties and is known to stop the itch of insect bites and stings
Tea Tree also has antihistamine and anti-inflammatory actions and is an antibacterial cleanser as well.
Peppermint repels ants while also cooling burning and soothing itching.
Cedarwood may be useful in keeping ticks, ants, fleas, and mites away.
Enjoy a Sweet Herbin’ summer, friends!
